A Brief Speech on Oppression: Height
Just a little something I wrote for my English class on how being so short oppresses me, I thought it was funny and so I decided to post it on here! Not sure if it really "oppresses" me (that might be stretching it a little), but it's certainly a subject I feel passionately about. Anyways, enjoy!
Going through school I have been faced with many challenges. As I get older people around me get taller and taller. How do I feel? Like I'm getting smaller and smaller! Students whom I used to look eye level with now tower over me and I must crane my neck to simply see their faces! Not only does this cause long term neck problems, but people also think it's funny to make fun of me! This is now a self-confidence issue. Feeling oppressed by your peers hits home, especially when everyone thinks you can't go on the kiddie rides at Six Flags... Everyone knows that a legal midget is 4'10 at age 18, am I 18 yet? NO! Am I 4'10? NO! I am 5 feet tall and prrrooouuuddddd of it!

Update! Exchange Students and the Countdown to Summer!
Guess who's getting a French foreign exchange student? Yep! You guessed right, it's me!! I am so excited, her name is Lucille and she's the same age as I am. I think that we will get a long really well and have a lot of fun together for the few weeks that she will be here this summer. Who knows, maybe we'll connect well enough that I can be a foreign exchange student in her house!! That'd be so amazing to get to go to France in the summer. Amazing. Like I can't even describe how exciting that would be. Well anyways just wanted to give out a little update. Summer is soon so I'll hopefully be posting more regularly, although I will be quite busy this summer... We will see! Literally like two weeks of school left. INSANE. Gunna be a good summer(:

I'm a Little Drunk On You and High On Summertime
That amazing feeling you get when you realize there are 4 weeks of school left until you get to run out those double doors, feel the sun on your face, and shout: IT'S SUMMER!!!!!!!
That summer feeling is starting to kick in and suddenly it's becoming all I can think about. The school days are getting longer and longer, and its getting harder and harder to find the motivation to get things done. Can't wait for those long nights, and carefree mornings. Gunna be livin' the good life(:
I've got several plans for summer including SAT prep, lots and lots of tennis, a summer internship, and MOST EXCITING OF ALL, a foreign exchange student from either France, Austria, or China. I'm really looking forward to the exchange student, even though I'll be really busy, I think it'll provide a nice break from my studies. Also I have my license now and so I will be able to drive myself places and hang out with my friends and get places much easier and faster. It is such a relief and so nice to not have to count on anyone for a ride because I know I can drive myself there, and I don't feel bad about having to constantly ask my parents for rides places. Yay!
I must admit, sophomore year was an amazing one. Complete 180 from freshmen year, that's for sure. I was really able to come out of my shell and people got to see the real me that I'd always hidden because I thought it was weird. But they liked it! So then I realized that being yourself is the way to make friends and get people to like you, not being the shy quiet girl in the corner. Lesson learned! I made so many new friends this year and met so many wonderful people, finally got that boyfriend too(; he's amazing. I have high expectations for the rest of this year, so far I'm really liking being 16, and I'm really liking 2012. It's been a good year so far, and it's even better that the school year is almost over and the time for swimming and campfires and vacations and sunbathing is almost here. Gotta love summer! I am so excited for junior year, but that's not to take away from summer, no, summer is my time!
